Between the Shadow and Light 2002
A documentary about the thoughts, style and works of Farah Osuli, a contemporary Iranian painter. She seeks to find a significant form for expressing her thoughts and ideas and has found it in the rich tradition and subtle beauty of Iranian painting, architecture and decorative arts. The unfeeling faces of her miniatures seems suitable for men and women she wants to depict. In her works, she also deals with the issue of Iranian women in special social situations. Farah Osuli is one of the first artists to use miniature paintings for strong, personal and contemporary artistic expression which depics women's lives.
