The holy bread 2008
Every February, the wedding ceremony of Pir Shahriyar is held in the village of "Oraman Takht" in the southwest of Kurdistan. Pir Shahriyar is a holy and revered old man who brought Islam to this region nine hundred years ago and is said to have married the king's daughter after healing her, which celebrates this auspicious wedding.One week before the month of February, they go to the residents' houses and distribute the walnuts from the garden of Pir Shahriyar as the beginning of the ceremony. And the votive meal is baked according to the recipe of nine hundred years ago and they dance and listen, and the next week the women bake the holy bread and the men take the bread to the tomb of the holy old man, and after a ritual dance with the ground, they bless it with Yogurt is distributed among the locals. * It is said that 21 rituals in Iran are rooted in the ancient Iranian religion.
